KuPs vs AC Oulu

KuPS’ recent league form has improved following a difficult August. Miika Nuutinen’s side  lost to Inter and drew with Gnistan and HJK before beating VPS 2-0 away in their latest competitive league fixture. That victory also ended a four-match winless sequence.

There are some fitness concerns, however. KuPS reported seven players on the injury list during the September international break, although several were already returning to training. Piotr Parzyszek, Jorginho and Bob Nii Armah were among those who had returned to team training.

International duty has also affected preparations, with Jaime Moreno, Akseli Puukko and Arttu Lötjönen involved with their national teams.

AC Oulu have struggled for consistency recently. They lost their last three Championship Group matches, against VPS, Gnistan and Inter, finding the net only once. It was their only league goal during the month of September, highlighting some serious attacking problems at an important stage of the season.

Rasmus Karjalainen remains an important attacking threat. He scored in the 2-0 victory over KuPS in May and was already the league's leading scorer at that stage with five goals.

No major new injury list was available from the clubs immediately before the fixture, so late fitness checks following the international break could still influence the line-ups.
